Marinda is Registered
Psychologist in the province of Alberta Canada. She received her MA in
Psychology from the Vermont College of Norwich University. Her Master Degree
focused on the causes and treatment plans for domestic violence. Before
becoming a psychologist she worked in Spousal abuse programs in
Saskatchewan from 1996-2002. She also has B.Com (Hons) in Industrial
Psychology degree.
Marinda Venter spent 3 years in a Human Resources position. She also had the opportunity to work with a Psychologist
in England who specialized in eating disorders. She worked with a
psychologist in Melfort who practiced in family therapy. She did extensive
traveling in a wide variety of countries and was exposed to many different
cultures.
Marinda completed 2000 hours of supervised clinical
training
Prince Albert Mental Health Centre, Prince Albert Health District,
Saskatchewan. She worked for Mental Health in rural Saskatchewan where she
dealt with clients who presented with a wide variety of complicated issues. She
conducted individual and family assessment and therapy with the clients. She
also provided consultation to other health professionals in the health
region. She worked closely with the family physicians, and psychiatrist of
the health region, assisting them with suicide assessments, psychometric
testing, and assessments of individual clients. The clients presented with
a variety of issues depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship
problems, crisis intervention, parent child relationship issues1
panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive
disorder, psychosis, bipolar disorder, eating disorder, stress related to
work stress, sexual molestation, fibro myalgia, acquired brain injury,
adjustment disorder, anger management, child apprehension suicidal ideation,
and forensics, and a variety of personality disorders. Marinda is working
in private practice in Calgary since 2004.
